It's been an inexcusably long time since I blogged, but lightning took out my satellite internet last year. That left me with dial-up service for quite awhile, which was very frustrating. I just don't have the patience to try to upload pictures on dial-up. Now I have have DSL and no excuses. I'm missing my Apple Grove sims so much, and even if no one reads Sims 2 blogs anymore, my heart is still with TS2.
I've played Sims 3, and it's just not the same experience. I hate that memories and genetics are basically gone, and even with the awesomeness of MATY hacks, you still (as of last time I played) can't effectively rotate houses without messing everything up. The beauty of the landscape and the openness of the neighborhood just don't make up for the inability to control the neighborhood. Even playing a Legacy style game is not fun for me. Relationships seem so impossible to maintain. I could just go on and on.
So anyway, I've been getting back into Sims 2 more lately, and I'll be blogging my Apple Grove Prosperity Challenge again, even if I'm the only one who reads it. I love having a whole neighborhood of sims to play with and control.

Hello! :) Welcome back!
What a nice surprise to find on my feeds :D
I'm not sure if I ever commented but I used to read your blog back then, and really loved the intertwining community you got going :) Glad to hear you're getting back to it!
To be sure, there are still a lot of Sims 2 players :) Many people still do very inspiring things with the game and have no inclination of fully switching over. So I'm sure you'll gather readers around you again. I know I'll be one of them! :)
Welcome back! I'm glad to hear you're going to resume Apple Grove!
We don't care how long it's been, and trust me, I've no interest in Sims 3 either than the few rare people, like Mao, who can make an interesting story out of the whacked-out new "upgrade." I'm so happy to see you back in the land of us TS2 prosperity kids, and I can't wait to reacquaint myself with the Apple Grove simmies again. :) And welcome back to the land of high-speed internet, too, woohoo! I'd die if I had to go back to dial-up. :p
I read it, I read it . . . . looking forward to your updates. I am currently trying my hand at the Sims 3 for the first time. I feel the same way . . . miss my Sims 2!!
Well, I still play S2 and read S2 blogs, and many more do too.
If Sims 3 had chemistry I think I could like it more - I like to NOT have full control of everything - that's why I use ACR in S2 ;)
Thank you for your all your comments. I'm surprised but glad to find that there are many like-minded people who still love Sims 2.
I'm working on the next update, which will be about the Webb family. I'm almost done, but not quite satisfied with it yet - should be soonish. I'm trying to get reacquainted with my sims after a year of being away from them. It's taking me awhile to get caught up and remember everything.
WELCOME BACK!!!! I am so glad to hear you'll continue!!! I missed Apple Grove it was one of the (many) blogs that inspired me to eventually start my own!!! Congrats!
Glad to see I am not the only one, that prefers S2. I actually like the graphics of S2 more too. It has a nice watercolour touch to it. The sims in S3 I find plain annoying: I don't like the way they look, the way they walk - or the way they talk. I'll stick to S2. Since I've been cheating a lot, perhaps it could be time to start playing ... ;-)
Sims 2 is still full of so many possibilities to me that it would seem a shame to just throw away all the time and money I put into the game for something that is not far superior. Sims 3 has some good points, but overall I think the sims are weird, a bit creepy, and kind of ugly. The game itself has a lot of beauty, but without the memories, genetics, and more control over what happens in the neighborhood, it seems inferior to me.
Woot! I've been hoping against hope that you would continue Apple Grove someday, and I see that it was rewarded. I feel the same way you do about TS2 vs. TS3: it's pretty, but the sims seem less like very quirky people and more like dolls to me. I'll have to reread the whole thing, but I'll be caught up again in no time.

Well obviously I didn't have to wait the year in order to keep reading, but I'm excited you decided to keep going and finally got your high speed internet back. It is annoying to try and do things like blog on dial-up. Only a couple more years of posts to catch up on. :D
Thanks, ciyrose! At the speed you're catching up, it should not be long at all before you're current. :)
