Tired of apartment living and somewhat rich from being a cult leader, Daniel Brown bought this nice home on 21 Strudel Street. He couldn't completely afford it, but thanks to Simlogical was able to obtain a mortgage.
He decided to find a new job, and as a former cult leader was immediately able to con his way into becoming the Dean of Students at Académie Le Tour.
Daniel's sister Devan moved in after college. She and her boyfriend Charles Fletcher are trading stories about their experiences with the cow mascot while at Urele House. They weren't there at the same time, but their experiences were similar. It's funny now, but it was awful having that cow around when they were living there.
Devan decided to take a job in Show Business to help pay off the mortgage. She was able to start as a Supporting Player.
Daniel switched jobs that afternoon and went into Show Business as a Bit Player.
Later that day he was promoted to Commercial Actor.
Despite having a mortgage to pay off, Daniel paid the matchmaker §5000 in hopes of getting a good match.
And at first it seemed that he had found the one. He had 3 bolts of attraction with Lisa Pons. But did you know that bolts can lie?
I could overlook the fact that Lisa was a romance sim, but she and Daniel didn't seem nearly as attracted to each other as they should have been. It seemed to be taking way too long to build a relationship that should have been a piece of cake.
Devan got promoted to Broadway Star.
He decided it might be interesting to meet a Contessa, and he was immediately charmed by her. She was quite a beauty with very pale skin, red hair and unusual red eyes.
She had this weird habit of covering her face with her arm, but it didn't seem important at the time. She said she needed to get home before dawn because her pale skin was easily burned by the sun. Daniel didn't think he could wait until the next night to see her again, so he asked her to move in with him. Surprisingly, she agreed and moved in immediately, bringing a large sum of money. He would now be able to pay off his mortgage on the house.
This relationship was a fantastic match, and a very easy dream date.
Despite her extreme light sensitivity, the Contessa left a bouquet of roses after dawn outside the basement door, and stopped to admire their beauty - ignoring the fact that she was quickly roasting to death.
Whoa! There's a bat in the house!
The Contessa seemed determined to sleep in a coffin of all places. Why did Daniel have coffins in his basement? Well, he had always wondered if maybe the bodies of his dead parents would ever be found and returned. He just wanted to be prepared.
Daniel cheerfully headed off to work despite wearing the stupidest costume, thinking only of the beautiful, mysterious Contessa.
Hailey's Lifetime Want is to become a Celebrity Chef.
Devan is apparently a complete moron - laundering money at a Laundromat. Way to go losing §25,000. What I want to know is how Devan even found a Laundromat, as sims have no washers and dryers, and don't wash clothes.
After Devan's stupid money laundering incident, the Browns had to take out a loan that day just to pay the maid and gardener.
Devan doesn't mend her criminal ways after the last fiasco, but instead moves on to smuggling.
French Fry Guy gets promoted to be a Cartoon Voice now.
Too late, Lisa. If you really liked Daniel you should have shown it sooner.
Daniel is now in love with Hailey.
Hailey has this odd trick of disappearing in a puff a purple smoke. There's that bat again. Maybe he should call an exterminator.
Daniel located his pretty friend and popped the question.
And Contessa Hailey said yes.
Daniel invited a few friends that night to meet him down at Apple Grove Church for an outing.
It was his wedding night. The wedding had to be at night because the Contessa hates the sunlight. She also hates that the stupid printers spelled her name wrong on the wedding invitations, although it's too late to change it on such short notice.
They exchanged their rings...
Said their vows...
Daniel gave her a dramatic kiss...
And they rushed over to cut the cake at the reception hall.
My, what sharp teeth she has!
She also has a way of looking at people sometimes that makes their blood run cold.
Devan and Charles were there as guests. I look forward to their special day which should be soon.
Hey wedding crasher, feeling an icy cold stare on you?
Daniel has an attraction to a woman I assume is Sandy Bruty's cousin. Great, the Charlatan is here as well.
And a rabid dog???
And then things got even weirder if that's possible.
Hailey decided to bite her new husband on the neck.
Ooooo, things are getting all pretty and purpley.
It seems that we have vampires. That would explain a few things, wouldn't it Daniel? I saw it coming, but I didn't know if I should say anything. ;)
Well, he doesn't seem at all unhappy about being undead. But I think these two had better get home before the sunrise.
The wedding outing didn't quite reach "rockin" because dawn was rapidly approaching, but Hailey still got a cooking point out of it.
Speaking of cooking, she's cooking in the sun and really needs to get moving faster toward that squad car.
Oh gee, thanks Brian, but we really don't want cockroaches. It's a good thing they still have Devan living with them because Daniel and Hailey have to sleep in coffins until sundown. I've had Devan doing unpleasant chores since college for being such a pain, so why should today be any different for her. It's the least she can do after losing that §25,000.
Deciding to stay at work and study was probably a good idea not only for the Logic point, but for the fact that she didn't need to get out in the sun and burn up on her way downtown.
As it is, her plumbbob usually matches her hair anytime she gets home from work.
Devan is the first sim in Apple Grove to join the Garden Club, but she hasn't quite earned the wishing well yet.
Thanks to Charles pulling some strings at work, Daniel was promoted to Supporting Player.
And Charles enjoyed the wedding so much that for some reason he decided to leave a stove out on the sidewalk for them. Late wedding gift?
Daniel decided to switch jobs again to the Natural science field. His job will be looking at dirt, which actually pays really well.
Devan reached her Lifetime Want of becoming a Criminal Mastermind. She really doesn't look like one.
Daniel is bummed about losing his job, so he stupidly stands outside and pouts while burning to death.
Devan finally gets to wear her Criminal Mastermind uniform. It just doesn't look right with those blond pigtails. It's hard to take her seriously as the leader of the criminal underworld.
Daniel and Hailey finally consummate their marriage. They have been so busy trying to stay alive that they kind of forgot all about the woohoo.
It looks like Hailey's going to take another bite out of Daniel.
At night, the Browns enjoy gathering around the poker table.
Hailey was able to find a job in the Culinary field. I'm a little concerned about her goal to one day have a show called Cooking With Blood. I'm not sure that it will have a large following in most places.
She appears to be a good poker player, beating her new friend Violet Hamilton.
The matchmaker dropped by with a surprise gift for Hailey - a genie lamp.
Oh, and Hailey was promoted to waitress. I guess keeping her alive makes me miss taking pictures of her promotions.
After many attempts to get the Garden Club to come back, they finally came back for another inspection and gave Devan her wishing well.
Devan is a popularity sim, so nothing thrills her more than making new best friends. Don't they look thrilled to be here at 1:00 a.m.?
On the last night of our visit with the Browns, Daniel and Hailey decided to visit some new community lots in Apple Grove. This one is called Mini Mountain.
They are able to buy some imported souvenirs from Three Lakes thanks to Lord Darcy on MTS2.
And were able to sample some real Flapjacks.
Even though it was really cold, they tried log rolling. It looked like Hailey was going to win...
However, Daniel won the first time.
Thankfully, Hailey won on the second attempt so they could dry off and get warm.
Good throw, Hailey!
Then they went on to Mini Takemizu. Poor Hailey got poison ivy from her wish.
But Daniel was more fortunate and will supposedly have more success in his career.
Daniel won a game of Mahjong, while Hailey tried some chirashi.
Next they went to Mini Twikkii.
One of the evil witches swooped down like she was going to try to kidnap the fire dancer.
After several attempts to plunder the captains' quarters, Hailey finally found the ghost.
Daniel had no luck at all with the ghost except for annoying him, but Hailey was able to get him to teach her the sea chantey, and Daniel was able to join in and learn it.
I'm not sure how Hailey learned to fire dance with her arm in front of her face.
Woohoo, a sauna!
I was glad to see that several vacation memories can be had without a vacation - probably 25 of them total. Actually 26 if your neighborhood can have beach lots and you can find beach treasures. Apple Grove has no beaches, though. These new lots will make vacations a little more relaxed for my sims. The memories Daniel can still get without going on vacation are from camping in a tent, having room service (this could come from a neighborhood hotel), finding a buried treasure, finding a secret map, learning the 3 greetings from other sims, and from learning the hula, tai chi and the slap dance from other sims.
Hailey didn't get the Mahjong memory yet, so they will be temporarily replacing their poker table with Mahjong.
