And now we will catch up with the Webb family again. At the moment they have a nearly empty nest, with the older kids grown up or at college, and only Washington still living at home.
I had no idea that DNA splicing was a part of law enforcement.
See, he can't even properly use a computer, but I think it's unfair to expect a cop to be a computer-savvy geneticist.
Clinton really wants to become Captain Hero, and now he's a step further away from his goal right before retirement age. It's great that he can appear to have such a positive attitude about being demoted. Seems like he's probably having some kind of mental breakdown on the inside.
"Crazy or not, he's hot! Call me!"
Whoa, what is my simself doing? Sure, he's an attractive sim, but still... I'm kinda disappointed in myself. What would my sim hubby think?
My dog Obi came with me to visit the Webbs and is playing with this wolf who just happened to stop by to help out by digging holes in their yard.
Poor Washington looks like he's not too happy to have homework. He just spent 7 hours in school, and he really wants to go play now.
I guess I'm a homewrecker, and my dog is a homework wrecker. I like how my simself is just oblivious to her pet's bad behavior. I should be so embarrassed.
Poor Obi gets a scolding from Grace. He was a bad dog trying to eat Washington's homework, although I know Washington wished he had succeeded. But the kid should know that no one believes you when you say a dog ate your homework, even if it's true.
Clinton is still very much in love with Grace. My simself was unable to steal him away. Sigh.
The Webbs decided to buy a vacation home in Takemizu Village, Pearl Mist Estate.
Oops, I really thought they had more money than that. I decided to loan them the money so they could still go. I figured that was the least I could do considering my simself's behavior. Of course, I did make sure they paid the money back as soon as they returned.
Washington was packed and ready to go in seconds. He really needed a vacation from school and the grueling homework.
This is a pretty good vacation home for the price. I like to use bunk beds for the larger families. I almost always have the family sell their vacation home after their vacation, as they don't go often enough to make it worth keeping.
The Webbs brought their kids from University to Takemizu Village, too. Their first fun family activity was to dig up the entire backyard in the hope of finding a map to the secret lot.
Wilson doesn't look as happy as he should on a vacation. Is he missing fun stuff at the Greek House? No, they don't get to have much fun there because I make them work all the time. I think he's wishing his family had taken him somewhere less lame for a vacation like Twikkii Island. Islands have beaches, which often involve "babes in bikinis." Takemizu Village has nothing to offer him in that department.
That's funny, because every penny the vacation cost was one that you didn't work to earn, kid.
Because the ninja loves the unfair advantage of hiding along the wall of Takemizu Village Hot Springs where the ground is uneven, I leveled the playing field and removed the fences. Most sims are obviously not gifted with awesome ninja skills since they can't even have a conversation on uneven ground and the smallest, most insignificant items become death traps to them.
It's funny how high Grace can jump when surprised by a ninja.
But now Grace has learned the secret technique to scare sims the ninja way.
Wilson's vacation got even worse when his wallet magically disappeared.
Uh-oh, Grace's bladder did not learn the ways of the ninja, and the Wise Old Man does not own a toilet. It makes you wonder how wise it is to live exclusively off of tea, zen gardening, and meditation.
Uh, Grace, I hate to interrupt the fascinating Legend of the Dragon, but your leg is in your pee puddle. Just an FYI.
Grace is worried that someone saw her pee in the Pagoda in the Shadows, but Clinton assured her that since it was dark, he didn't think anyone saw anything.
Of course, it's not dark now, and someone is definitely seeing...things. Parenting FAIL. Didn't OFB introduce door locks?
I like how he averts his eyes on the way back out. He may need a visit from the therapist.
What would a Bon Voyage vacation tour be without some angry bees?
The week flew by and soon they were home again. Grace enjoyed vacationing so much that she decided to take a permanent vacation. It looks like Washington is going to paint a picture of his vacation. Let's hope he doesn't paint what he saw in the master bedroom.
For some reason, yelling loudly made him gain 1 body and 1 cleaning point. That's weird. Yelling never seems to accomplish that much for me.
Wow, that's quite a nice pension.
In her retirement, Grace is as busy as ever. It is not what she expected, although she should be used to my ways by now. She reached maximum enthusiasm in Cuisine...
and in Music and Dance.
Thanks to choosing a smokescreen grenade over a flashbang grenade, Clinton is finally promoted to Police Chief.
It's also his 54th birthday, which according to Apple Grove Time Reckoning, makes this date December 9, 2016. That means the day he was born was December 9, 1962.
Life is short, so Grace just really wants to eat the cake already.
I hadn't checked in awhile, but was glad to see that Grace earned all her lifetime aspiration benefits.
And Clinton earned all of his too.
After working really hard his entire adult life, Clinton was finally able to reach his goal of becoming Captain Hero shortly after becoming an elder. He doesn't look happy, but I think it's only because he didn't get to wear the uniform home today.
I decided to further ruin his day by making him sew.
Grace was in the basement building robots. She seems more naturally gifted in mechanical stuff than her hubby. Maybe it's the ninja skills.
Finally, the big day arrived for Clinton. Here he comes to save the day!
Nice form, Clinton! He's so proud of his new job.
One more picture to celebrate his success!
When he returned home, I had him make the dreaded phone call. Clinton desperately wanted to say "no," but I made him choose "yes" for health reasons.
I mean, look at him! Years of stress from a job in law enforcement combined with the stress of a large family, a couple of alien pregnancies, and a bad diet consisting mostly of cake, doughnuts and blueberry ice cream had all taken a toll on him. There is no way his spine could take on a giant robot.
Doesn't it seem a bit unfair that a retired Captain Hero gets §635 less in pension than a retired Education Minister? Where is the appreciation for the protection provided by law enforcement?
It's finally time for Washington to become a teen. It looks like Wendy's is having to go home before getting cake. Sim kids hardly ever get to go to birthday parties on weeknights.
He always looks so serious, but I guess it's only a facade. I noticed his face and neck don't match for some reason, but hopefully that will change when he grows up, because honestly, I just can't be bothered to care enough to go into SimPE.
On the inside, Washington just wants to have as much fun as possible. He loves stinky girls in formalwear, but with no jewelry. That should be interesting.
But I guess a part of him still wants to continue learning.
Clinton paints a portrait of Grace and reaches maximum enthusiasm in Arts and Crafts.
He also becomes a master sewer? I know he isn't a seamstress, but why can't he be called a tailor or a master in sewing?
Grace finally earned her gold robotics badge and began working on a servo.
She also reached maximum enthusiasm in tinkering. You have to be enthusiastic to build a servo, because it takes a long time and a lot of work.
All of Grace's robot-building practice has left her with a lot of extra hydrobots, but she doesn't want to open a business selling them. She somehow fits a fully assembled hydrobot in this little box and gives it to Reagan as a gift. Reagan is definitely making that "Oh my, you shouldn't have" look.
Taft is also really surprised to be getting a hydrobot. I'm sure she's wondering what to do with it.
Clinton gives her some curtains for the Greek House now that he's made sure his house has curtains for every window.
Washington reaches maximum enthusiasm in Arts and Crafts.
He really wants to be a pres... presti... prestidi... prestidigi... magician. For his first trick, he will learn to say and spell it.
Now that he earned his gold sewing badge, I allow Clinton to do something a little manlier. He gets to play in the dirt now. I honestly don't think he cares what I have him do ever since I let him keep his Captain Hero uniform as his everyday clothes.
Grace's hard work and talent have finally paid off.
Meet Grace 2.0.
Grace 2.0 wants to become a Media Magnate. Even though it won't count for the challenge, I plan to let her earn her lifetime want. I wonder how people will feel about a servo becoming basically the next Oprah?
Clinton becomes a member of the garden club, although he didn't quite earn the wishing well yet.
Here is the Webb house at the end of Round 5. It will need a little more work to be wishing well worthy. Maybe if someone could move or fix up the junk car in the driveway, that would be a good start.
Scoring: I debated on whether or not to continue scoring. It's very complex for me, even with all the rules and a spreadsheet, but I'll continue to try for now. 2 points for Grace's cuisine and music and dance plaques, 3 points for Grace reaching the top of her Lifetime Aspiration Meter (LAM), 3 points for Clinton reaching the top of his LAM, 1 point for Clinton reaching the top of the law enforcement career, and 1 point for Washington's arts and crafts plaque. Also, Clinton earned his LTW of becoming Captain Hero, which will add to the final score. The population of Apple Grove is currently 44, with a total population of 46.

Nice to see that you and your simself are back!
This family is really into their hobbies. I'm impressed!
Nice job with all the accomplishments this round, it seems like you remembered everything ok!
So glad you returned. I have always enjoyed your stories.
I don't know how you keep up with it all but so glad you do!
Thanks for all the nice comments! :) I only am able to keep up with stuff by taking a lot of screenshots. I never take notes, because I would just lose them. I don't always use the pictures, but they do come in handy for remembering stuff. Sometimes when I go back and look at them, it takes me awhile to figure out why I took a particular picture. ;)
Heeey! Great to see Apple Grove again. :)
Heeey! Great to see Apple Grove again. :)
LOL...I had a friend to raised dogs and her dogs actually ate her school book/homework. She brought it in as proof...well what was left anyway. It was quite funny.
LOL....his neck and head don't match. Crazy. I've never seen that before. The turn on/offs can be STRANGE combos sometimes.
Your sims sure build up badges pretty quickly....you must have them do that almost non-stop if they are up and not needing something.
That's funny about the friend whose dog ate her homework. It seems like our dog may have done that to my brother once, so it does actually happen occasionally. ;)
I found out later that I had 2 default alien replacements in my game, so I guess that was what caused the mismatched neck.
Well, I admit to using macrotastics sometimes for hobbies and skilling. I don't consider it exactly cheating, but it does automate the process quite a bit.
