The Fletchers 2: Round 7 / But the Fire Is So Delightful...

Photobucket

♪ Oh the weather outside is frightful... ♪

Okay, not really, but there is snow.  The weather is "frightful" here IRL, at least for some people.  We're getting a little snow here in the midwest/southern U.S.A., but that meant we had preemptive school closings this morning - even before the snow arrived.  I think the school people are just eager to get a snow day because we haven't had any snow yet this winter, and we're getting ready to run out of winter.  Real life Christopher is happy to have a snow day.  But enough about real life, let me get back to Apple Grove's Christmas round, and the Rudy Fletcher house.

Photobucket

Just as a reminder, these are the current members of the Fletcher household.  Wendy's is not in the picture because she is off at college, and having a rough time of it right now as a single parent.

Photobucket

The Fletcher house is pretty small, so the computer desk had to be moved to the upstairs hallway to make room for the "diet festive tree."  You do know it still takes up 4 tiles just like the regular Christmas tree, right? :P

Photobucket

As usual, Rudy and Zoe are all over each other like most 3 bolt couples.  They're both Knowledge/Pleasure sims, so they have a lot in common.

Photobucket

Chick-Fil-A is a 14 year old Romance sim, so she is a bit different in this house of bookworms, but she had the good sense to pick Knowledge as her secondary aspiration.  She doesn't want a lot of romance yet, so for that I'm grateful.

Photobucket

With one computer, this is pretty much what you always see here at the Fletcher house.  Someone is always waiting for a turn.

Photobucket

Chick-Fil-A wanted to make friends with her cousin Havelock, who in the last update was transformed into a wizard by his mother Sophie - which explains why he's going around making this expression a lot.

Photobucket

After he and Chick-Fil-A hung out for awhile and became friends, he decided to go out and practice ballet in their garage.  Apparently, learning ballet helps improve your Quidditch game.  Who knew?

Photobucket

10 year old Jack-in-the-Box was wanting to improve his art skills, so he asked his dad if he could paint his portrait.  Jack was already at a level 8 at this point.

Photobucket

Chick-Fil-A decided to be nice and make some hamburgers for everyone since she was out of school for the holidays.

Photobucket

What evil thoughts are you thinking, Rudy?

Photobucket

Well, whatever it was, he amused me  by putting himself in the corner for a time-out immediately afterward.  He's really a good sim, despite his mean-ish personality and "mean warlock" title.

Photobucket

It had been many years since she made him a wizard, but Rudy decided to invite over the head evil witch Maura Trimble to get caught up on what's going on in the magical world and why the dark witches have changed to wearing the neutral colors.  Rudy had a lot more success talking with her than Sophie did.  Maybe it's the sexy pirate attire he's wearing.  Anyway, apparently she and the other dark witches are still just as evil, but prefer to keep a low profile.  She said it's just their way of reassuring the Muggles.

Photobucket

Once again, the Santa cookies have worked their magic.  Has anyone else noticed this happening?  Your sim hasn't worked out recently, but they eat a Santa cookie and get fit.  Crazy.  Where can I buy some?

Photobucket

The portrait of Rudy is looking really good, meanwhile his twin sister Applebee's wants to make a friend, so she finds some to kids to chat with online.

Photobucket

The Fletcher's didn't want to risk another family Christmas party (i.e. heartbreaking disaster), so they just had a few friends over.  Tyson McMilian was a friend of Zoe's.  As it turns out, Chick-Fil-A really likes him...

Photobucket

...even better than Pierce Zarubin, the guy she got her first kiss from the last time we visited.

Photobucket

The first sign of fire comes from Chick-Fil-A's anger at herself.  Darn, I thought I fixed that problem.  In actuality, I think she's mad at someone else.

Photobucket

Chick-Fil-A's want panel gives us a clue as to who she's really mad at.  She is not alone in really wanting Washington Webb to die for what he did at the Webb Christmas party.  I suppose Chick-Fil-A has more of an excuse than most, as it was her sister Wendy's who got hurt.

Photobucket

And then there is real fire.

Photobucket

Rudy was afraid of fire, but thankfully is rational enough that he will not have to see the Therapist.

Photobucket

He is really upset, though.  There was a smoke detector in the room, so the fire department arrived quickly to put out the fire.  They got a new tree to replace the burnt one.  Even though the trees are a fire hazard, they really wanted Santa to come.

Photobucket

As evening came, I had to get another picture of their house.  As impractically small as it is for their family, I really do like this house, especially with the snow.

Photobucket

Jack was able to finish the portrait of Rudy for Christmas, and he really did a great job.  It wasn't a masterpiece, and is only worth §71, but it's worth way more than that to the family, and they weren't planning on selling it anyway.  And after this he started another painting.  Any time that easel is free, Jack starts another painting.  It will be interesting to see if he wants to continue painting as he gets older.

Photobucket

Applebee's plays the Sims.  With her 10 nice points, I doubt she's feeding anyone to the cow plant. ;)

Photobucket

Rudy serenades his wife.  Even though she has no fashion sense, he still think she's beautiful, and he's still madly in love with her.

Photobucket

As they try to sleep in hopes that Santa will come, Rudy is still troubled about the fire they had that afternoon.  It's almost as if he can still hear it and smell it...

Photobucket

Yep, and that's why.

Photobucket

Thankfully, the fire department was quick to respond - again.  After that, they just had to give up the idea of getting another Christmas tree for the Christmas season.  Rudy didn't want to risk any more fires.  And what was the deal with Santa not showing up after all that trouble?  They had the cookies and (at the time) a lit non-flaming tree, but Santa just stood them up.

Photobucket

So they got some Christmas presents anyway.  I went with the cheap gifts for Chick-Fil-A and the adults, knowing that they didn't have a lot of room in the house.  They all got bonsai trees, which is a little boring, but also good because we can find places to put them.

Photobucket

I love the size of these boxes, LOL.  There could be just about anything in there.

Photobucket

Applebee's got a crafted robot toy, and she's really happy about it.

Photobucket

Jack-in-the-Box got a fire truck.  He's happy about it, but he's going to hold off on showing it to his dad, as he doesn't want to remind him of the 2 fires they just had.

Photobucket

Chick went out to the garage that morning to work on earning a Hogan Award scholarship.  She wants to look her best anyway, since she is a Romance sim, plus her ultimate goal in life is to be a rockstar like her uncle Brian Tucker.  She's going to have to look good and have a lot of energy for that.

Photobucket

Wendy's showed up for a brief visit and brought baby Cinnabon to meet her grandparents.

Photobucket

Rudy can't help but love his new granddaughter.

Photobucket

Zoe sees how hard it is for her daughter to have to keep up with her classes while living on campus with a baby.  But she knows Wendy's is going to be a good mother.

Photobucket

She looks proud of her daughter for taking her responsibilities seriously.

Photobucket

Zoe knows Wendy's doesn't have much money, so for Christmas she gives her some presents to help out with the baby.

Photobucket

As we say goodbye to the Fletcher family, Chick-Fil-A maxes out her body skill.  She studied physiology (her idea), so it was almost an instant 10 body points for her.

Photobucket

And here are the family trees.

Photobucket

For the first time, I had to add on to the bottom of the family tree to get Cinnabon on there.  Even though Cinnabon is the 5th Generation, for game purposes she's only Generation 3.

Scoring: No changes.

I love their house too! :) I downloaded it a long time ago, but you know me with the big mansions ... this house was a little too small for me. Alas ... That garage with the tall window on the second floor and that high angle on the roof: It looks so nice ... sigh! It's amazing that you can get so good pictures when the rooms are so small. I need grand mansions to get interior pictures at all ...
The second picture, that from inside the house with the christmas tree, is really, really beautiful! The colours and the light! It looks very homey and christmassy.

Thanks, Nonikk! :) I understand about how hard it is take take pictures in the small spaces. I do have a camera mod that makes it a little easier, but it still takes a lot of maneuvering. I'm glad you liked my Christmas tree picture. It was my favorite also. :)

Other than the fires, this house was so calm after the last 3 updates... Almost no drama at all. It was nice of Wendy's to bring over Cinnabon to meet the grandparents ;)

Liz, it was a nice break to have a drama-free house. ;) I really like Wendy's as a mom, and I'm glad I remembered to have her come over. I almost waited too long, and then I would have had to make some kind of excuse. ;)

The family is really cute, but I'm most amazed by RL snow days, it doesn't happen in Sweden, ever!
Cute with Wendy's visiting with the baby!

Thank you, jungfrun! :) I imagine that a snow day does seem amazing to you. I'll bet you get a lot of snow in Sweden.

What a sweet update for this family...nice and calm. Do you have a mod or cheat that allowed Wendy's to bring over the baby? I would love to be able to have my sims bring their babies for family outings. :)
