Changes in Round 6

The first change in Apple Grove is the neighborhood itself.

The Cormiers Andersons: Round 5 / Revenge Is A Dish Best Served Warm In A Glass

Darn, I accidently pushed the "Publish" button this morning when not 100% finished with this post. But it is almost finished except a few minor details. I have to leave for awhile today before I can completely finish, but I'll go ahead and leave my post up.

If you've been reading Round 5, you may remember that Charity's new husband Elmer cheated on her right after their wedding when I was playing Sophie Graham's house.  I can't stand the sight of him anymore.

The Foremans: Round 5 / Big Ambitions, Tiny House

We are now returning to the Foreman house where newlyweds Cassandra and Morgan live in a very tiny house at 240 Turnover Terrace on the corner of Turnover Terrace and Strudel Street.  When we left them, we just caught a quick glance of them as they moved in earlier in Round 5 after moving out of the Bauer house.



It was an easy move, because as you can see, the Bauer house is right across Strudel Street from them.

The Todds: Round 5 / And On That Farm They Had Some...Rockin' Cockatoos

When we last saw the Todds, Catherine and Charlie had moved out of the Tucker house at the beginning of Round 5 to give Catherine's son Martin more incentive to settle down and get married.  They brought their young son Aleksei with them, as well as the two plant sims Aloe and Belladonna.  They settled into a nice farmhouse on Orchard Way.  It's not that Catherine or Charlie had any interest in farming, but Aloe and Belladonna wanted a farm.

The Jeffresses and Miguels: Round 5 / Strawberry Limeade

Both the Jeffresses and Miguels just moved into this house that was formerly owned by rockstar Brian Tucker.  Because the sisters and their new husbands were willing to share a house, they were able to get a nicer one, and I was grateful to them for giving me just one story to write this time rather than two.

The Fanceys: Round 5 / Serenity Now

When we last visited the Fancey family, they had just moved into a new house and given birth to their first child, a daughter they named Coupon.

True Colors

Hey, this is just a quick post to add a new idea.  I think I've seen another Sims 2 blog somewhere that does this, but I can't remember where right now.  If I find it again I'll add a link.  Anyway, if you've played Sims 3, you know those sims have favorite colors.

The Fletchers 2: Round 5 / EAT MOR CHIKIN

When we last left Rudy and Zoe, they were new parents of a daughter they named Wendy's.  Yes, she is named after the restaurant.  Rudy had sympathetic pregnancy cravings for Wendy's during Zoe's pregnancy.  Rudy has never been right, though.  He is addicted to old ladies, either strongly attracted to them or driven to violence against them.  Anyway, other then Rudy's quirkiness, they are a boring bunch who prefer to have their noses in books above most other activities.  Rudy is a dark wizard, but don't get too excited.  He stays as close to neutral as possible to still be allowed to wear the black robes.  He thinks they look cooler, and besides, his truly evil little sister Sophie would probably curse him if he wore another color.  Little Wendy's wears her hair in red braids to live up to her name, although she has only one nice point.  She's taken over the neighborhood newspaper theft route from Amiee Bauer who went off to college.



Rudy and Zoe just moved into a new house, and it looks like it's just in the nick of time.

The Grahams: Round 5 / Sophie's Sorcery Shop

The last time we visited the Grahams, Sophie had chosen to marry Daniel, one of her 20 conquests from college.  Daniel was a sweet guy who wanted to become Captain Hero.  Their first child Havelock was born, but Sophie was unhappy because she had wanted a daughter instead of a son.  When not busy at work in the education field, Sophie was in the basement studying black magic and becoming atrociously evil.  She conjured up a female feline familiar (say that 5 times fast, lol) that she named Merlin, who hates Daniel.  Daniel is lonely, but is a good father to his son Havelock since Sophie will have little to do with either of them.



Their butler "Jeeves" likes to spend his time in the dance sphere, because that's why they're paying him the big bucks.

The Tuckers 2: Round 5 / Scandal in Apple Grove?

When we last visited Brian Tucker's house, he was working on his distasteful LTW of woohooing 20 different sims.  After that was over with, I made him marry one of the twenty, Dagmar.  Dagmar was abducted by aliens, and saved from death by starvation before giving birth to Aerosmith.  Brain got a makeover and was working on becoming a rockstar.

Name Changes

This is just a quick post.  I changed two of the family names in Apple Grove.  I had been considering doing that for a long time, but finally got around to it.  I didn't have a particular reason or concern, but felt it was better not to have the names of real people in my stories anymore.  I only mention it at all just in case the name changes are confusing.  So you aren't thinking, "Bauer... Bauer... but I could have sworn the name was..." ;)

List of Sims in Apple Grove

This was a list of all the sims in Apple grove and their statistics, but the list got too long, so now I'm making pages for individual families, which can be found in the top of the left column under "Apple Grove families."  I may eventually take this page out of the table of contents once I have a page for each family.  For now, I will leave it, but it is no longer being updated as of August 25, 2011.

The Shibatas: Round 5 / Desire, Adore & Cherish

We now return to 11 Apple Avenue, located right across the street from Apple Grove Church, to the Shibata family.  Ravi and Kimberly are married and have a daughter named Honey.



And Ravi and Kimberly are both romance sims with 3 bolts for each other, which is often nauseating.  When left to their own devices, this is the kind of thing we can expect to see.  All the time.  It even sickens Charlie McClellan, but he says nothing, like a good butler.  They pay him plenty, although it may not be long before they will no longer be able to afford his help.  Their new house is quite expensive, and their lives may soon be getting a lot more interesting.

University: Round 5 / University of Applebama

And now it's time to see what the college kids are doing.  The former Académie Le Tour has been renamed University of Applebama.  It's always been just 20 miles from Apple Grove, but now it's lost it's fancy French name.

The Browns: Round 5 / The Secret's in the Sauce

Contessa Hailey is wishing for Peace of Mind.  Me too.  I wish it were this easy to make my plumbbob platinum.  As a matter of fact, she's lucky I played this round a year ago or she wouldn't be making wishes without being taxed out the wazoo. 

The Hamiltons: Round 5 / The Great State of Applebama

It's now time to revisit the Hamilton family, where six cats outnumber the four humans living there.

The Bauers: Round 5 / Delusional Days (Years)

I just realized as I was writing this that I must have quit choosing random scenarios for my sims.  I guess I hate the idea of choosing bad things to happen to my sims, even if it does make the story more interesting.  It's funny, because I'm not opposed to choosing punishments for my sims that tick me off.  When I actually get to start playing again (I'm an entire round behind on my blogging) I think I'll go back to random scenarios again, but I'll have to give it more thought and maybe weed out the scarier possibilities.  I think I'll just post my list of the possible random scenarios soon.  I found many ideas that others have used, plus I've thought of a few fun ones of my own.

Additionally, I want to start focusing more on building up some more neighborhood businesses for more realism and less focus on earning points.  I'll have to wait to get caught up on the story again to actually change anything.  I want to have actual business hours for my businesses, and have my sims who don't have LTW careers work for neighborhood businesses.  I think that could be fun, along with having more financial restrictions to make things a little more challenging.

And now, we return to the continuing story of Apple Grove.  We are back to the Bauers this chapter.

The Webbs: Round 5 / I'm Holding Out For A Hero

Wow, it's been over a year since I blogged about Apple Grove's inhabitants. According to the properties of these photos, it's also been over a year since I took these pictures of the Webb family. Hopefully, I can put together a relatively coherent update despite how long it's been. I'm going to make myself get caught up again on blogging before I play any more families, even though I'm dying to play them again. I've actually played over halfway through round 6, but I will blog it all before I continue playing. That should really motivate me to get caught up quickly.

And now we will catch up with the Webb family again.  At the moment they have a nearly empty nest, with the older kids grown up or at college, and only Washington still living at home.

I'm back, finally

It's been an inexcusably long time since I blogged, but lightning took out my satellite internet last year.  That left me with dial-up service for quite awhile, which was very frustrating.  I just don't have the patience to try to upload pictures on dial-up.  Now I have have DSL and no excuses.  I'm missing my Apple Grove sims so much, and even if no one reads Sims 2 blogs anymore, my heart is still with TS2.
